Saturday, nine to four

One day a week the stone floor, the shop and the bakery counter are all open at once. The rest of the week the stones are turning and the door is shut, which is not rudeness — it is flour dust and a hoist.

Trade, classes and awkward questions

Bakery supply, a place at the bench, a school group, or a question about a loaf that went wrong — all of it comes to the same inbox and Ingela answers it on Wednesday evening.

Getting here, and two things people get wrong

Off road 184 between Falköping and Floby, turn at the avenue of limes and keep going when the tarmac stops. Twenty minutes from Falköping station by bicycle, two hours from Göteborg by car. The bus to Floby leaves you a four kilometre walk, which is a nice one in June and a bad one in February.

ParkingSix spaces in the yard by the loading door, not on the lane — a tractor needs that width and will tell you so.
The map is wrongMost route planners send you up the forestry track on the far bank. There is no bridge at that end. Follow the signs for Åsle instead.

Bring a container

Loose flour is 4 kr a kilo under the sack price and we knock the tare off whatever you turn up with. A clean paint tin is ideal. A carrier bag is not.
